William Platts long jumps to a world record during Idaho Senior Games at Timberline High School in Boise, Idaho on August 3, 2013. Platts finished first in the M85 Division with a jump of 11-07.50.

Platts holds the Senior World Record in the long jump Men 80-84 Division with a mark of 11-11.75 set in 2009. His jump of 11-07.50 exceeded the current world record in the M85-89 Division of 11-03.00 set by Ralph Maxwell of Richville, Minnesota in 2005.
